Project Brief :
Fashion Mashup is a third semester project for which we were supposed to research on two different topics. The first topic was given to me, which was Kashida and for the second topic, we could choose a culture of our liking. I chose K-pop for my second research topic. After the research, both the topics were supposed to be mashed-up to design garments which would have aspects of both Kashida and K-pop.
I wanted to set the layout like a magazine. Both Kashida and K-pop researches were put in complete different layouts. While Kashida gives a very minimal vibe, K-pop is all bright and colorful.
The research on Kashida includes its history, embroideries, motifs, colors, fabrics and embroidery process. It also includes how Kashida has been modernized and about the famous Beigh family, who is still working on keeping Kashida alive.
